Our retail nursery
(and our home) is located in southern
Miami-Dade County, south and west of Miami proper and north of Homestead. The
information below is here to save you time and
frustration. It helps to print out this
page and bring it along. The phone number is 305 255 9825*. In Miami-Dade County you
need to dial the area code (but not the 1) when calling from a local phone.
* Please make price and availability requests via email.
We accept personal checks, major credit cards, bank check cards and debit cards.

The instructions to get here are simpler now, though the route is slightly longer. This is balanced by the fact that you no longer have to drive over miles of crummy, bumpy gravel roads. Only the last 500 feet or so is unpaved and it is in pretty good condition. Do NOT attempt to find our gate by using a GPS; it will not work and you will get very lost indeed. Just follow the map below. If you can read a map, you can find our nursery.
Your first goal is to get to Krome Avenue in the Redland*. This is S.W. 177th Avenue. If you are coming from the east, (from the turnpike or US 1, for example) the logical way in is via Eureka Drive (S.W. 184 Street) or Quail Roost Drive (S.W. 186 Street at US 1, but S.W. 200th Street by the time you get to Krome). Both of these roads are accessible from exit 13 on the Florida Turnpike. Coming from the northwest (Naples, for example), you can get on Krome Avenue from Tamiami Trail (S.W. 8th Street) or US 27. Refer to the map, below.

From Krome Avenue, go to S.W. 192nd Street and drive west to the end, where it turns north (at S.W. 197th Avenue) and crosses the canal. Two short blocks puts you at S.W. 188th Street.** Take a right and proceed east, just 500 feet further than where the pavement ends in the photo below. Use only the routes marked in red unless you like off-road punishment.
On your left you will see the gate to Zone Ten Nursery:
Park along the fence and come in. We will give you a plant list when we see you. If you don't see anybody right away and have a cell phone, call 305-255-9825 and we will arrive to assist you.
* If you are coming from the south you can also take Redland road (S.W. 187 Avenue) to 192nd Street.
** Note that many of the side streets in this area do not have stop signs and, in addition, the drivers around here tend to run stop signs that are in place. So be careful. Also, there are children and pets walking around in the neighborhood, so please keep your speed down on 188th street especially.
Our nursery is essentially a plant factory located in a small botanical garden and fruit grove. We live on the nursery grounds. But, as with any factory, it is not a safe place for unsupervised children, and some of the plants are poisonous, too. So if you bring your kids, please make certain they stay under your supervision at all times.
Yes, we have a rest room you may use and there is free bottled ice-cold water available for our customers (just ask). We also have an electric golf cart with trailer which we use to tour people around the nursery grounds and pick up your selections. A printed price list with a lot of cultural information, which you may keep, will be given to you when you arrive. Many of the species we sell are planted in the nursery landscape so you can see what the mature plants - especially trees - look like.
We have very often found that many of the staff in specialty nurseries tend to follow customers around much like a lion stalking a gazelle. We don't enjoy being treated this way ourselves and we do not do this to our customers. Because our plants are clearly labeled and we provide a current price list, you are free to browse around on your own as long as you wish. You will not find any "hard sell" at Zone Ten. Of course, if you want any information or wish to see an established plant in the ground, let us know and we will be glad to assist you personally as time permits. Feel free to walk around the garden areas and view our plantings.
You do not need to carry your selections around with you at our nursery. Choose what you want and then, when you are ready to go, we will pick up your plants in our electric cart and transport them to your vehicle. We will provide a receipt with both the common and scientific names of your plants and indicate which ones require shade. We can also label individual plants, if you like.
Bon voyage!
